PERSISTENCE
If you are a writer, you don’t give up. You write when it sucks, you stare when you can’t. You don’t give up after rejections, criticism, and bad reviews. You just don’t give up EVER. You remember that you are improving with every mistake you make, you remember that nobody else can tell your story, you remember that your writing will save at least one life (because it will). You write because you have to!
“The ability to understand and share the feelings of another.” As a reader, you are hooked into a book when you care about a character, when you want to know what happens to them. Empathy means being able to put yourself in somebody else’s shoes, understanding all of your characters, make them well rounded, not all good or bad. If you cannot see things from somebody else’s perspective you will only be able to write well one type of character: the type that behaves like yourself.
As a writer I believe in promoting awareness, understanding and acceptance. Don’t you?
