If you write in the middle of the night to keep yourself company, if you write to calm yourself down, if the feeling of a pen, pencil, or keyboard at your fingertips makes you feel connected with the rest of the universe…YES, you are a writer.
Being a writer is not about your skill level, about having something to write about, about having published, or having a legion of followers crazy to read your books. All these things can be worked on.
Being a writer means you need writing in your life to be happy (or less miserable). Writing is a part of you, like a hand, your heart, or your brain.
So, don’t mutilate yourself and don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise. If you are a writer, embrace it, own it!
Being a writer is hard; baring your souls to strangers for them to love it or rip it to pieces. This is why I started the #writersunite movement; to help and support each other in this crazy addiction we share. On the bright side I promise you that the moment you reach the heart of even just one reader, everything else will be worth it ^_^
I am a relentless Italian girl with a degree in genetic engineering, a PhD in molecular oncology, and three published novels under my belt. I am the author of the Italian Saga (#TIS): an irreverent series taking place in Italy and speaking of love, sadness, sex, and happiness with a healthy dose of humor <3
